This is one of the mistakes that I heard more often than anything else. Over 50% of new entrepreneurs believe that once they designed their logo, they automatically become a brand. Are branding and logo not the same? No. The truth is that branding doesn’t start from a logo. Then, where does branding start?
Let’s get some clarity about this Branding and Logo confusion.
Once you get an idea that you want to have your own business, become a coach or open your online shop, you do not become a business unless you execute this idea. It is the same with a brand.
First, you open your business, you get an idea, define the point of difference and do research to build your first products. During the study time, you’d probably market your freebie.
Once your products are ready, there are two ways:
First. The most common option is to become another product in the market. Perhaps, that’s why 80% of businesses fail in the first year. Entrepreneurs were told that marketing is all they need. As a result, they end up with an average product that faces high competition. Even if you got the best marketing team the most powerful tool they have is “Unique Selling Proposition”. The next generations of new businesses will know your USP and improve their products.
Second. Build a brand. Brands plan strategically and attract clients by building relationships between people and brand.A brand starts with understanding how your customers think. It establishes values and promises, defines its audience much before the logo comes into a picture. A brand identity and all design elements must become a physical manifestation of the philosophy and ideas that brand has. To build relationships, a brand must be trustworthy, relatable, unique, and customer oriented. As you see before the business gets its logo a lot of work has to be done.
